EddonBotham is looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join our growing development team.

The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 3 years’ professional experience, be willing to express their opinion, and have the drive to take the lead as we continue to improve the way we develop and test our software.

EddonBotham is recognised as one of the world leaders in providing essential Engineering Data Management services to some of the world’s largest businesses in the infrastructure, mining, utilities, and process sectors via our SaaS offering.

About You

We would like you to have:

  • Strong experience of automated testing (inc. regression/unit/functional), ideally with Node.js/JavaScript
  • Experience and opinions on how best to implement CI/CD pipelines
  • Willingness to embrace “hybrid working” with 1-2 days a week working from the office

It would be awesome if you also have:

  • Experience of working in an Agile development process
  • Experience developing a test suite for existing software
  • Experience with TypeScript (We are moving away from CoffeeScript, so that too!)

About The Role

You will be joining our existing development team and working with the wider EddonBotham product management team to help us to further improve the way we develop, test, and deploy our software.

We are looking for someone to:

  • Take ownership of the testing aspects of our development process
  • Lead the discussion around testing for existing and greenfield projects
  • Expand and improve our existing suite of automated tests
  • Improve the way we design, test, and maintain our software
  • Assist in the migration of our software to a serverless architecture
  • Have a voice that will be heard within the company

We have a wide range of exciting projects and are always looking at how we can expand our offerings to take advantage of the latest technology – you can expect to be involved in projects that use technologies such as Node.js, various AWS services, MongoDB, and 3D visualisation tools – we have also recently explored Machine Learning, Augmented Reality, and mobile app development.

We have significant plans to further modernise our development process in areas such as automated testing, CI/CD, migrating to serverless, and automated deployments – giving you the opportunity to really make an impact and help shape the direction we go in.

About Us

Based in Stockton-on-Tees (we also have offices in Australia and the USA), we are a close-knit development team within a growing business that has proven to be very successful in disrupting the world of Engineering Information Management.

  • 25 days holiday
  • Yearly bonus scheme
  • Access to a training budget
  • Share options scheme
  • Private medical cover
  • Death in service cover
  • A modern and well-equipped office with free parking
